The right response to Jesus! (John 9)

The right response to Jesus!

John 9

A man born blind demonstrates how we should respond to seeing Jesus’ signs

While the Jewish leaders display the sorry reality of spiritual blindness

Along the way John causes us to think about the relationship between sickness and sin

What can we learn from the once blind man?

Jesus’ words: the diagnostic test for our hearts

Jesus’ words: the diagnostic test for our hearts

John 8:31-59

Believing in Jesus will set you free

Jesus is denying the truth

There’s no one more important than Jesus. So how we respond to Him matters more than anything.

Jesus: the true light, that gives life (John 8:12-30)

Jesus: the true light, that gives life

John 8:12-30

John has told us Jesus is the light…    (Jn 1:1-18)

Now Jesus says “I am the light…”       (Jn 8:12)

John shows us the darkness of:

The Pharisees’ human judgement  (Jn 8:12-20)

and the Jews’ worldly thinking      (Jn 8:21-30)

Everything will be clearer – when Jesus is ‘lifted up’

Are you enjoying the life that the light gives?

 (Preacher: Steve Blencowe)

Where else have we to go? (John 6:22-71)

Where else have we to go?

John 6:22-71

(Reading vs22-42)

What is it that keeps you going?

In this passage there are many looking for Jesus, but very few really find him (v26, 66)

What does Jesus mean when he says: “I am the bread of life”?  (v35)

And what does it mean to “eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood” (v53)

Can we say what Peter said?

“Lord, to whom shall we go?  You have the words of eternal life.”
