Why not read the whole Bible in a year?

There is a Bible reading plan here, the ‘five day plan’. It’s great because it aims for five readings a week and mixes the Old Testament and New Testament. If you follow the above link you can read the rest of the reasoning behind it.

There are a few of us starting on 20th October 2024 picking up at ‘Week 43‘. That means the start of Ezekiel and John’s Gospel. But you can join in whenever you like.

Here’s three ways you can read along:

  1. Print the reading plan you can download a .pdf here.
  2. Save that same pdf to your computer or device and it works like a form so you can ‘check’ the box against the readings you’ve completed. Also, the Bible references in the .pdf are click-able so you can read online using bibelgateway.com (pick your Bible version when you first try it and your browser should remember your selected version on subsequent days).
  3. There is a Calendar you can subscribe to here. The details of each event in the calendar include a link to biblegateway.com so you can read online if that’s easier. Alternatively you can download the calendar here and import it to your computer or device. You might like to set notifications/reminders so you receive a daily prompt?

Choose whichever works best for you and if you’d like to know who else is reading along with you then Let us know you’ve started.

PS Here’s a fourth (maybe nerdy) option. If you have an iPhone you can load this app and load the ‘Five Day Plan’ (and select ‘mark read to today’ and then get reading from today. In January un-mark everything (or reload the plan) and keep going).
