Luke’s Gospel was written to demonstrate that Jesus is the Messiah – our Lord and Saviour

Everyone failed to recognise Jesus as they had him crucified – they mocked him because he didn’t save himself

But Jesus understood completely what he was doing – as our Lord and Saviour

As Christians we should conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of the Gospel (1:27)

Therefore … we “work out” our salvation (2:12 and 14-16)

But we knowing it is God who is at work (2:13)
